BOF Topic: Live Electronic Collaboration in Support of Distance Learning

Brothers,

Present wisdom is that Distance Learning programs are best supported with a

mix of synchronous and asynchronous systems.

A synchronous systems include:

1. CD-ROM

2. Computer Based Training

3. Internet Based Training.

Synchronous Systems can include Internet based systems for:

1. Text

2. audio

3. Application sharing

4. Static Video (Slide Shows, pictures, etc.)

5. Motion Video

Tools can include NetMeeting, CU-SeeMe, etc.

Synchronous Electronic Collaboration can also include the use of

communications satellites, fiber optic networks, microwave systems, etc.

Are any other ICCM attendees interested discussing how Live Synchronous

Electronic Collaboration fits into the mix for an effective distance learning

program?
